Looking for competitors for the 4th annual Hot Dog Cookoff

Oh Chicago loves its hot dogs! Although there is a classic way to cook and dress a Chicago dog, we're inviting competitors to get creative and mix it up for charity. Please join us for the fourth annual Hot Dog Cookoff on Saturday, September 24 at Montrose Saloon, located at 2933 W. Montrose Ave. near the family-filled neighborhoods of Albany Park, Ravenswood Manor and Lincoln Square.

The event will take place in the their outdoor beer garden, kicking off at noon. The cookoff is sponsored by Vienna Beef and Finch's Beer, with proceeds benefiting Reach Out and Read Illinois, a pediatric early literacy foundation.

We're looking for chefs — professional or amateur — to cook and serve tasting portions of their dishes throughout the afternoon to roughly 200 people. We will provide you with Vienna Beef hot dogs before the event, which you can use in any way you like. Additionally, we will provide grills, prep tables, and volunteers for you at the event, but any other ingredients or equipment will need to be supplied by you.

Judging will take place at 4:30pm (possible celebrity judges and others TBD) and there will be an overall winner and an audience favorite award. We will be doing lots of publicity around the event, including promotion of the competitors and their businesses.
