It closed after 21 years, in 2014. It used to be at 804 Davis St., now the home of highly-acclaimed Boltwood. And, finally, Dan Kelch’s eclectic, approachable Asian eatery, Lulu’s (Dim Sum and Then Sum) has re-opened in Kelch’s new building on the former site of Tom Thumb Hobbies. The building also houses his other resurrected restaurant, Taco Diablo, as well as a new bar, with retro games (e.g. pinball) and an impressive rooftop space (thankfully, closed during wintry weather), called Five & Dime.
Dan had said he closed Lulu’s – not because it wasn’t profitable – but because he thought it had been running on “cruise control” for too long. But it’s said to now be reinvigorated.
Or is it?
