It looks like we're just about set for next Thursday's dinner, as 23/24 have paid. That said, I've emailed and PM'd Tarte and have yet to hear anything back from her. If anyone here could check with her and find out if she still plans to attend, that would be most appreciated. I'd hate for that last spot to go unused if she's changed her mind or her plans have changed.

It was a terrific opportunity to taste all (and I do mean ALL) of the NOLA-influenced favorites. Everything was tasty but standouts for me were the pimiento cheese apps, gumbo shooter, hot chicken, ribs and etouffee. Most of all, though, I enjoyed REB & RAB's Max representing for coolfoodkids everywhere! That would be bar veteran Chris Kafcas, who used to run the bars at Fountainhead and Moneygun, among other places. I really liked the Hurricane, too (tasted a friend's). It was appetizingly tart and had a great passionfruit flavor. My Aviation was also terrific - very well balanced. Chris and Danny showed me their upcoming cocktail menu (launching in about a week) and it looked great.
I'd also like to thank Danny and the whole crew for the delicious meal and excellent, warm hospitality. He's a total pro. Always making it look effortless, when we all it know it isn't. It was a really fun evening -- great seeing everyone and getting to chat a bit.
Let's do it again sometime!

We have almost hit our 2 year mark and I think we are really hitting our stride and putting out some great food and drinks.
