Forbidden Root is a brewery that wants to open in West Town but the local liquor laws are not making that easy. They are looking for the Alderman's support and urge supporters and neighbors who have questions to attend their town hall meeting tomorrow

Open since February, I stopped into Forbidden Root for beer around 7pm. Comfortable and elegant space, the bar was full but not bursting with patrons. The beer is truly unique and well-priced ($5-$7). Had a Halfaweiss, a well-balanced Berlinerweiss (3.8% abv), and a Jacob IPA (6% abv), made with proprietary hops and palm sugar. Growler fills to go.

Food looked excellent; we'll be back.
