Hey, it's got an ampersand. It can't miss!

Here's a little reminder that we are at a different location than in the past several years. Dont get confused and go to the wrong place. We are in Forest Glen Woods this year.

    Hi,

The times I have tasted bile, I didn't find it as off-putting. I was brought bile to season a dish. I tasted it, found it be better than I thought, then dumped the whole container into my food.

    Regards,

Remember, this is return to our original location in Forest Glen and not LaBagh Woods:

Where: Forest Glen Woods, 5420 N. Forest Glen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60630 pdf

Public transportation: Forest Glen Metra station at 5301 N. LeClaire. Connecting to CTA Foster 92. (If someone offers better transportation instructions, this will be updated)

Driving: Take 94 to the Peterson Exit (only exit east), then turn right (south) onto Cicero Avenue. [Caldwell is not Peterson, do not go west!] Forest Glen Drive will be on the right (west side) taking you into quiet residential neighborhood where our picnic grove is located.

To check the latest details, you can go to the reservations thread.

Whew. I almost forgot that this is this weekend. :|
Yeah, I'm hauling 12-packs of 12-oz. soda out of the basement. When I was buying soda for myself (& dad [R.I.P.]); dad liked root beer - me, not so much. Envision the flavors of soda that Jewel would have on sale that week. All the big guys in soda have this. Lemon-lime, orange, real sugar, cherry, etc..
Since I am driving, I will have artifacts from Vancouver, BC, Canada {from the previous weekend}. :)

Printing name tags. Already I know I missed someone but cannot figure out who. Just remember, I once forgot to print a nametage for me!

    It happens.

    It is not personal.

Now, I go figure out how to use my new printer. If I cannot, nobody will get a nametag.

Got it to work, so tags for everyone.

As always, a great party. Friends old and new, great food, glorious weather today, lovely setting. Thanks as always to Cathy2 for arranging it, but thanks, too, to everyone who helped, from setting up to bringing fascinating food to simply providing interesting conversation. A most excellent day.

Thanks to everyone--along with Cathy2 especially, of course--who contributed toward, participated in, and again reified overall, LTH Forum's (deliciously) fundamental comaraderie on this pleasant fall day.

Both of my friends that came with me loved it, and one of them told me on the way home he could not believe how well organized it was, and he loved the food. It was nice to see everyone there, and as always I loved the food and eat too much. BTW- I was the one that brought the strawberry sparkling water, and it must be a new product. It is made by Pepsi, and I bought it at Valli Produce last night.

My friend Joan asked me how I became involved with the group, and I told her that one day I was searching the web trying to find an article the Chicago Tribune did where they did taste tests on peaches, and decided the ones purchased at the farmer's market tasted a lot better than most of the peaches you get at the supermarket. While I was searching, I ran across something about "I won't buy from farmer fleece you" It was a post somebody did on LTH, and I decided to join the group so I could reply to the post. Thanks, Nancy

Cathy, I appreciate that you, some years ago, sold your soul so that we could enjoy great weather for this event every year! And thank you for taking the lead on this event each and every year. We all truly appreciate it. And that was a great decision to move the event back to Forest Glen this year. I think it's a much cozier spot than LaBagh.

Thanks also, to glennpan and Andrea for bringing the piñata and running the game for the kids. And more thanks to fifille and to all who helped set up, clean up, etc.

It was great seeing everyone and getting to chat a bit. There were some great bites and sips today but that seems almost secondary compared to the social component.

    I thank everybody. I had a good time. :)
I believe those who were there early glimpsed what I 'experience' at morning events. I really did not get enough sleep Saturday night. I was there, but I was not there. :|
I needed more rest. (This is the main reason I do not get to LTH North Lunch Group outings.)
All the foodstuffs I had were quite good. We went with option 'B' for cooling the soda [Filling cups with ice.]. I was mildly surprised only two of the varieties were consumed (nobody wanted the root beer or the grape :?:).
