    Hi,

    I'd love some rhubarb.

I am bringing the Chinese chives promised last year to Jim ... unless it is too muddy to collect.

From early discussion, people should as much as possible bring their own chair, right?

    Regards,

    - Wow, I'm paying $3.19 at the cheapest station in my neighborhood, I'll come out with an empty tank.

I picked up a 30# box of hot links from Uncle John's yesterday, I'm keeping about 5# for myself so I'll be bringing the cooks 25#. I'm also bringing potato salad, beverages, chairs and a 6 foot folding table. I'll try to get to your place by noon so I can set the table up and the sausages can get started. We're planning on staying at Starved Rock and hiking on Sunday so I don't want to take back any sausages, please consider them your's to do with what you will (as long as you take photo's) :D

OK...people who like rhubarb! Jim & Cathy...I'll reserve some just for you. If anyone else wants some...it will be first come first serve. Thanks for the gas info...$2.49 sounds GREAT to me. Jim, I know you have already brought it up, but the mosquitoes are getting intense. In my opinion, Deep Woods (by Cutters I think) works the best. Also, remembering from last year, I'd wear pants and shoes that you don't mind getting muddy and wet! Jim thanks again for hosting this event. I'm keeping my finger crossed for good weather!

    lol.

this year the yard is alot drier, even with the recent rain. So mud hopefully wont be an issue.

I am also going to pick-up a couple 10 x 10 canopies on the way home from work today, and being the positive thinker I am they are for sun not rain. :D

I am bringing vast quantities of a rum punch that I learned from Mike Page at Vie, as well as some other assorted spirits. I'll have cups for our beverages and hopefully some ice, as well.

Still hoping to bring a veggie + meat side dish, as well but that's no longer 100%. Hopefully, we'll have enough food if I can't manage to pull it together.

hopefully light, or the front blows through overnight, or falls apart. keep your collective fingers crossed.

I purchased (2) 10 x 10 pop up canopies on the way home last night so there will be some cover(at least for the la Caja, and cooking devices).

I love the idea of ~70 people standing around in the rain, all watching the grills and smokers chug away under a nice canopy.

My understanding is that this is at your home. If the rain gets heavy can we go inside - just us, not the pig.

yep @ my house(not a huge house), or garage.

I called a local party rental place and they have a 20 x 20 tent available for $95.

I cant cover the cost of this tent by myself, if folks are interested in this option that could make the vent more comfortable for all let me know( i see a couple folks have aready expressed willingness). The place is open til 5:00 p.m.

Im not gonna mess around, heading out right now to get the tent. 20 x 20 tent is supposed to be able to seat 50, that plus a coupe pop ups will work.

If folks are willing to chip in on the $95 charge that would be great. works out to maybe a dollar or two each.

I think a large tent like that will make it better for everyone.
