Thanks, Jim. We're happy to contribute. No problem. Better spend a few bucks each than risk getting soaked. Plus, if you assemble today, and it rains before the party, the grass underneath won't be as wet.

    Really looking forward to tomorrow,

I am afraid I (+1) have to bail. I just accepted a project from a repeat client that I have to turn around by Sunday. Unfortunately, my need for money outweighs my want to roast pig and socialize. I am sure you all will have an epic time. Sorry this is last minute but it cant be helped.

    It's about 5 feet long.

Otherwise if we can arrange a car swap between now and 11 AM we'll bring it, but if not...so sorry.

    thanks folks,

beautiful night out west, sunny and I am getting in a quick run on the yard with the John Deere.

Tent will be out back by the cooking area(close to my buddies ash pit).

Anyone who wants to come out a little ealry to help set up the tent would be cool. Yard is dry, no mud/grass mix like last year.

I have the pig, and it is injected some pics to follow as soon as I am done mowing.

Scrambling to get it together before tomorrow, definitely going to be there but still haven't hit 100% preparedness yet. The keg of beer I'm bringing, it's not as good as I might have hoped. It's an ESB basically, but I used a yeast strain I haven't used before and it seems to have fermented a bit hot and developed a bit of an off flavor. I could call it a "Belgian-style ESB" I guess. I'm still bringing it, as the off flavor really only hits you the first and maybe second sip you take and then fades into the background, still a drinkable beer but not representative of my best work and a bit disappointing for me personally. Also I'm thinking it might still make a good beer for shandys so I'll see about bringing some lemonade for mixing.

I'm also bringing some bottles for sampling of a couple more beers I have, an experimental ale called "Breakfast" that I've gotten a lot of good feedback on, and a habanero stout that I just bottled a week ago that is quite spicy but also very tasty.

Food-wise, Mindy is making a family recipe for a strawberry and pretzel dessert salad that I think is pretty tasty, and I'm working up a couple of things, still planning to bring the smoker but probably not getting too ambitious. We'll get there as early as we can, Jim, and I'll help out however I can, but like I said we're going through some last minute chaos and I'm not sure how early that will be. Definitely kicking in some bucks for the pig and tent and etc. though.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

I'm back after having been immersed in a project all week. I've got to make my beans this morning (this is the first chance I've had to do it), so I won't be there too early. Count me in for pitching in for the tent. I'm also bringing a personal sized tailgating popup in case it's needed.

    everything sounds good folks,

20 x 20 tent is up, pig has been in the La Caja for a little over an hour. (2) 10 x 10 canopies are covering the smoker/grill/La Caja area.

Just gotta make the ABT's, and get the drinks on ice.

if anyone needs help with directions, call my cell.

Weather is hot and sticky, cant tell if its raining or if the air is just saturated. Ground is damp, but nowwhere near as bad as alast year. Bug spray is recommended although the bugs kind of disapperared when the charcoal got smoking.
