Yep, yep, yep. It's all been said already, but thanks so much for the tour, David.

It was great meeting you and sharing pork with the LTH/eG crew. I appreciate
the reminder of what a delicious jewel we have in Maxwell Street Sundays.

So sorry to have been unable to make this, but glad to live it vicariously through these beautiful pictures and descriptions. I am particularly sad to have missed the mamey. Perhaps the single best bite of food I have ever had in Mexico was from a peak-of-ripeness, just-picked mamey purchased at the Mercado de la Merced in Mexico City. I've bought a few pricey mamey's at grocery stores in Chicago, and while good, they don't even come close. I suspect it's just a matter of those selected for export having to be picked long before they are ripe. Ripening on the supermarket shelf just isn't the same.

The nice thing is that the Maxwell Street Market is there every Sunday. You could go this weekend.

my thanks also to David, for as much of the tour as i got to enjoy. For those of you who saw me writhing on the ground in pain across from the churro truck - I'm almost alright. I fell after stepping into a divot in the maxwell st sidewalk and dislocated my shoulder. The crackerjack staff at U of Ill med center ER fixed me up and sent me on my way.

As a non-Chic lth-er and EG-er - i really loved the weekend (well - ok, i could have skipped the pi part) - thanks to all of you for your hospitality!
