Many thanks to aschie for setting up a wonderful dinner last night. Good food and wine, wonderful company -- all hallmarks of a great LTH event. We certainly could have done without the parting gift from the City of Chicago. To anyone who visits A Tavola and parks on Chicago Avenue, be very diligent about feeding your meter. (Mr. X is going to contest the parking ticket because we're pretty sure we had enough time in the meter.) Despite that blip, we had a terrific time.

We also could have done without the parting gift from the City. But, the great food and even better company made up for it. I will definitely not be shy about attending another LTH Event.

You got nabbed, too? Did everyone else get a ticket? That sucks.

Luckily, I missed the restaurant on the first pass, went around the block, and found a non-meter place on Leavitt.

Has anyone mentioned that the gnocchi was pretty good? :)

Aschie--thank you again for setting up last night's great dinner. Last night represented everything I love about LTH dinners--the trifecta of interesting people, indulgent food and spicy conversations.

I'll add my thanks to Aschie30 as well. A Tavola is a place that's been on my radar for a while, but I always have a hard time going to that neighborhood without eating at Habana Libre. All that has changed now. A Tavola was great. I can't wait to go back to explore some more of the menu.

Stevez I can't believe how well that picture came out. It looks like it was taken at noon. It was so dark in that room.

And, amazingly, Maureen wasn't even hiding behind the curtain!
