I have made reservations for 6 at Mercat a La Planxa at Wed 8:15 (I'm sure that there will be no problem if we were earlier or if we have more or fewer diners).

Great. I am keeping now a running list on the OP.

PM or post here, if you want to join. Of course, you can always make a last minute decision.

Fabulous, did not get to see you for months, and now twice within the same week!

Does anyone know whether your name needs to match that of the name on the printed ticket? It says in the fine print that the ticket will be matched with the list of names at the door.

Problem is, the ticket I received is not in my name and that person will not be attending. I also noticed that the ticket has a unique barcode so I'm guessing as long as it scans and the name on the ticket is also on the list at the door, I should be good to go? I don't expect to have to present ID or anything but maybe someone who has been to an event here before can advise.

Looking forward to tomorrow night! Also planning to arrive early as it says check-in begins at 4:00 and seating in the auditorium begins at 5:00 (and I expect a capacity crowd).

Thanks Cathy for planning to post that but also for the original notice and keeping us all updated on such wonderful programs. It was certainly a fun evening and I just wish more LTHers could have joined in both for Adria and for dinner.

I'm still thinking about the Halibut dish we had at Mercat ...

It was an inspiring talk, despite the fact that Chef Adria doesn't speak English. His interpreter did a fine job and wasn't too intrusive. A couple of us ended up going to Chinatown after the show and had a great dinner as well. Chinatown was eerily quiet last night. I couldn't figure out why until I realized that it was Rosh Hashanah eve.

His translator was wonderful - I want to be her when I grow up!

I just really loved his spirit - that sparkle of joy and pleasure mixed with such brilliance was special to be around.

Here you go. Now you don't have to worry about that pesky copyright infringement issue.

thanks, i have watched that a few months ago on youtube, but the video that was played is different. since there is worry of copyright infringement i won't post it here. i mainly took it to show my husband who couldn't make the event anyway.

Were you talking about the one with the David Bowie music instead of this one?

the book shows how to plan and cook reasonably priced meals, and has great photos and step by step instructions. it also has recipes for 2 people, 6 or more which is nice because i almost always only cook for 2. it would be really great for a beginner in the kitchen because there are many basic recipes, but also tips to help you stock your pantry and what utensils you may need. i will admit it appeals to me because it's everyday, simple cooking and i really need that after a long day at work! the first page i opened to was a potato chip omelet, can't believe i never thought of doing that before!

    HI,

The book also reflects the cost of staff meals budgeted at four Euros per person serving 75 people. While organic food was served to restaurant guests. Staff were not served organic food, because it was too expensive.

He was also rather emphatic about sharing ideas and information. He emphasized how can the history be written if information and ideas are not shared. I quitely clapped my affirmation of that thought.
