Agreed. That's what I meant when I said that both groups would be better served by scheduling on a different night.

I had a great dinner at Aroy the other night. I tried a seasonal special of pickled apples served with a dipping salt. They were a great apperitif before a dinner of Aroy's greatest hits.

T asked me to remind whoever is planning the menu for this dinner to give him a call to talk about any special dishes you might want to include so they have time to shop for the ingredients.

I'm the planner when it came to the invitation, and the reservation, but it didn't occur to me to plan the menu. I just thought we'd all order from the menu when we got there. If anyone has a better idea, step up--otherwise my default assumption will remain true.

Unless anyone objects, I will talk to T and let him know that if they'd like to make a special item or 2 for us, we'd be very appreciative.

Figuring that no one was going to object, I just spoke to T and we are all set. I basically told him that if they'd like to do a couple off-menu items for us, we'd love that. I also said that if they were too busy or didn't have time, that would be fine, too. In either case, we won't find out until mealtime on Thursday what, if anything, they have in store for us.

I had them at a lunch last week and really loved them. Pics and comments are posted here on the main Aroy thread.

I absolutely can't believe I did this, but in marking my calendar the day we RSVPed, I somehow managed to mark the 2nd rather than the 3rd, and there's absolutely no way we can make the 3rd. Couldn't be more annoyed with myself, but I suppose the upside is that a couple of waitlisters will be happy :-/

Riddlemay and GAF - Thank you for including us in your dinner plans, what great company and food.

REB and RAB - Always love your choice of beer, opened up my palate to sour beer, particular with hearty food. Rich - By the way, a little embarrassed that I totally forgot about our conversation at Whistler.

Always a delight feasting with the LTh family.
