mrkrogers forgot it was her husband's birthday. She has a really cool cake up her sleeve. I told her to come to the next one. She is really quite sorry about this.

I'll be bringing the Cherry Cheese strudel. I have an oven, but much of my things are packed up and I'm doing dishes in the bathtub, so the less mess the better.

    Another casualty: Helen.

    Sorry!

I may have to make a last minute change of dessert. I will bring something, though what exactly I am not 100% sure.

I am making brownies from this month's cookbook club selection.

Reminder: bring dessert cookbooks to show and tell. (This applies to me who almost forgot)

Another fine time had by all. Dinner was salad with herbed vinaigrette, and Lamb Kofta Pulao - using Japanese-style rice to give a cakier casserole.

Thanks again to Sue & Joel for hosting! I am currently enjoying a sugar crash.

PS - Great photo of the flan.

PPS - The bars are actually Gooey Layered Everything Bars. I swapped the raisins for dates.

Thank you to the family F for a lovely evening. The entree looked delicious and I wish I could have partaken. The desserts were wonderful. I apologize for my strudel. It took a fall and it wasn't as crisp as I would have liked, but was still edible.

Do we have a location for next month?

I was going to offer my place, but I realized that the 13th and 20th are both bad for me, the next weekend (27th) is Memorial weekend, and not only is it a holiday but if it's hot outside it will be only slightly better inside.

If no one minds the early date, I can offer 5/6 at my place. Otherwise we can do another picnic thing on the 27th. Or it can be someone else's problem all together...

May 6th and May 27th are both bad for me.
the 13th isn't great either LOL

the 20th would be my best date-although as a newcomer I don't know how much of a say I get.

After those cupcakes, you can say anything you want! I can't wait to eat the other half for dessert (but it made a very nice breakfast).
