my Jewel doesn't carry the gladware i need for the exchange. where is it available? (and i think i'll make some kind of savory tart- don't know yet. is the person with mushroom allergies coming? if so, i won't use mushrooms; if not, i'd like to know that i can if i want.) i won't be bringing anything to drink; i'll probably stick to tap water. thanks

Try Strack and Van Til, I believe some have mentioned finding them there. I'm not opposed to mushroom.

It's leek who has an issue with mushrooms, and she's not signed up (at least not yet) for this month. In the past, she's said if something was labeled as containing mushrooms, she'd just give it to her hubby. The issue isn't including mushrooms, it's just that anything with mushrooms should be labeled as such. But probably no worries for April.

i understand, but with so many other options i would not choose to make something with mushrooms if the person allergic to them is coming. i'm leaning towards mushroom/asparagus bread pudding....

    Hi,

The whole mushroom issue revolves around Leek, who did not sign up. However, when she does participate and there are mushrooms, her husband benefits. It has always worked out pretty well.

I was debating this also. Does anybody have any wine suggestions for this type of meal?

Hi - no, I'm not attending (too much else going on in life to do these for a while :( )

but as others have said, don't worry about making or not making anything with or without mushrooms. Just make what you want. If I am there and a dish with mushrooms is offered, my hubby eats that one and I do not.

It is all good, even mushrooms,

    Hi,

I won't be making pulled pork, I just don't have the time available to pull this off before Tuesday.

Sorry to do the somewhat last minute switch on promised contribution.

By the way, the reservation is under the name LTH.

do you guys mind if i bring a dessert just this once? you'd be doing me a favor as i have a lot of (very delicious) blueberry buckle left over from a culinary historians event today. cathy suggested i use it tuesday night; i probably wouldn't have had the nerve to offer a leftover otherwise. but it was wrapped up except for a very short time while it was being served and i've put it in the freezer and it'll be fine for tuesday. thanks, joan

I've only been coming the last few months, so I'm not really a "regular" yet, but in the description at the top says:

"One dessert is OK each month, we just didn’t want 6-7 dessert offerings as everyone was mostly interested in main meals (and there is a fabulous LTH dessert exchange the first Monday of each month)."

So if someone brings a dessert, that seems to be "within the guidelines" :D

    Hi,

There have been others who gave a dessert as their contribution. It is a perfectly acceptable offering, though we have tried to limit to one dessert item per exchange.

I still have to sort out what I am doing!
