Thank you Celia and Peter for opening your lovely home for today's dessert exchange. The dinner was delicious and you were so accommodating to everyone's various aversions. I wish I was able to sample all of the desserts, as they all looked especially dreamy. My better half will enjoy what I brought home.

The Milk Chocolate Malt Ball Cake recipe is in Baked: New Frontiers in Baking by Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito. It is their first cookbook, published in 2008. The recipe requires malted milk powder. I bought my malt powder from King Arthur and made my own malted milk powder by combining 6 tablespoons non-diastatic malt powder with 2 cups instant dried milk.

    Hi,

It seemed like we were in France rather than the Western suburbs. Everyone's dessert looked fine walking in, but they look magnificent when presented on KalamazooGal's collection of pedestals and platters. Food4Life's picture captured the elegant arrangement.

Our hosts Peter and Ceil provided a lovely table with individual pot pies: chicken for the ominvores, vegetable for the vegetarian and another to accommodate food allergies. Nobody felt the need to make-do, because it was all done in advance.

What a wide range of desserts were presented. I was not alone in eating what would not travel well and save the rest for the next day.

It was a great event, thanks to Peter and Ceil.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

I wanted to thank our hosts Celia and Peter. That was one of the most wonderful dessert exchanges I have been to, the display was gorgeous and the dinner delightful. The desserts people made were amazing and I am enjoying them every single meal for the last two days. Thank you so much for an amazing evening out.

I must say that we had a particularly delightful time on Sunday. Thanks to all who made to trek out to the Glen (which is not as far as Kingston I am told) and to those who took ill, please know that we missed you! Extra credit points to ParnumMorses (Melinda) who sent those killer Key Lime Bars even though she herself could not make it.

As promised, here are the recipes for our supper before the sweets:
CHICKEN POT PIE (adapted from the Silver Palate) : (Celia's changes - homemade chicken stock, bone IN chicken breasts (more flavor), added potatoes and leeks but no zucchini. I used a half butter/half lard patee brisee and I blind baked the bottom crust in the little ball jars http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/membe ... e-51590201
VEGGIE POT PIE: (Celia's changes - Saveur's recipe for Homemade Veggie Stock and Pate Brisse either all butter or all lard crust) http://www.vegkitchen.com/recipes/heart ... e-pot-pie/
FARRO & ROASTED LEEK SALAD: (Celia's changes - subbed Cannellini beans instead of chickpeas and added chopped pistachios) https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/101 ... d-currants
FETA, SCALLION and BASIL MUFFINS recipe to be posted separately.

Clueless then because I can see them on an iphone, screencaptured and sent to boudreaulicious and on a pc in chrome.

I have not had this level of difficulty before in posting pics. And I still can't post them from my iphone 6 directly to the site.
