    Hmmm,

There's only 1 bread, so count me in for some Almost- No-Knead loaves( I have 3 going right now 1 plain, 1 olive, & one of my own variants-- dried cherry with pistachio) with butter and an assortment of unprocessed preserves( they will be in tiny plastic containers).

If there's a deluge of bread coming before next weekend then I can always switch to something else.

I refuse to go head-to-head with Hellodali and her most-certainly-tremendous mai tais, trixie-pea. That's a losing battle. :D

I'll come up with another beverage choice soon...most likely involving the turbo-charged yet lovely Lemon Hart 151 Rum. (that would be 151 Proof).

Sadly, It looks as though I'm going to have to remove the red shiso lemonade from my RSVP. It is very hard to find the red (or purple) shiso and I didn't grow any this year in my garden. Also, my usually supplier is all out this year.

If anyone has seen any on a store, or knows where to find it, let me know. Or if anyone lives near H-Mart it would be great if you could check there for me next time you're in the store! I tried calling a couple times to ask, however I was not able to get a clear answer about it.

Time to change what I'll bring from TBD to actual food. I'm going to make a watermelon, feta and mint salad hopefully with a Baylor melon, and a peach, basil salad. The seedlings guys assured me there would be peaches next weekend. I'm also bringing paper plates, napkins and 2 plastic tablecloths. The spandex pants are already being readied.

Just reading thru my collection of back issues of the Wed. food sections and came across a tomato cobbler recipe that I may do something with as well. I have a LOT of cherry tomatoes to use up and this seems like a good way to use 'em. Seems like it would be fine at room temp...

    I'm now in +4.

My dish will be a riff on ham roll-ups, only better (I hope). As for the beverage, for sure I'll bring some homemade meyer limoncello that Jazzfood and I made (using his recipe) back in February and probably one other libation. I'll almost certainly bring some other items and will update here as soon as the inspiration hits.

    Hi,

Extended forecast suggests rain on Saturday and sun on Sunday with a high of 76 degrees.

The Forest Preserve advises we will have 15 picnic tables available to us.

Garbage will be collected from Saturday with an empty container on Sunday. We would like to encourage people to bring a bag to fill with recyclables to take home.

Glass beverage containers are not permited. A jar of pickles is fine. A beverage transfered into a pickle jar is not.

BYOT & BYOC: Seating is at a premium with only ten picnic tables provided with the shelter. These will be filled with all kinds of food. If you want to guarantee a seat, bring your own. Ditto for tables. There are lovely grounds for sitting on a blanket. You might consider setting up your seating behind the walls of the shelter.

According to David Hammond, who graciously stored last year's unused supplies, we only need paper towels, napkins, paper plates and plastic tableclothes to cover tables. We do not need:
    - Plastic table settings or cups
    - Baby wipes for cleaning hands
    - Plastic garbage bags
    - Take away boxes, we have a large collection of clamshell boxes.

Picnic Permit Rules and Regulations wrote:
    3. The Forest Preserve District is closed to all visitors after SUNSET. Night picnics are not permitted. Glass beverage containers are not permitted on the Forest Preserve District property.

    5. The sale of alcoholic beverages in any form is prohibited.
    6. Before leaving, you must extinguish all fires; collect all your paper debris, bottles and trash and deposit them in the appropriate containers.

    10. All ordinances and regulations in effect of the Forest Preserve District must be observed and the instructions of its representatives obeyed. Please note that the consumption of alcohol upon or within 50 feet of any roadway, parking area or entranceway is prohibit. No admission fees or charges may be levied.

Alcohol consumption is allowed in this grove. As stated above, you cannot bring any glass beverage bottles. BYOB -- if you share with someone then it is gift you're sharing.

From talking to the Cook County Forest Preserve Police, the consequences of a violation are: At a minimum two tickets with fines and mandatory court appearances will be issued: to the violator and the person named on the permit. Let's end the day feeling happy. :D
