    LTH,

Honey 1 will be on Check Please Friday 10/13 at 8pm. Seems the perfect time for an LTHForum BBQ outing. Anyway, after Friday it may be difficult to get into Honey 1 for a while as the Check Please Effect* is a well known Chicago phenomenon.

Let's meet at 7:30 for BBQ and watch Check Please on Honey 1's large wall-mounted TV. Honey 1 is BYOB.

The other two restaurants on Check Please will be Terragusto and Cuatro.

Please respond either in the thread or pm as I would like to give Mr. Adams, Pitmaster extraordinaire, a heads up as to approximate number.

All are welcome, the more the merrier!

    Enjoy,
    Gary

    Hi,

I have a program nearby and will stop by afterwards. Don't count me for dinner, just count me to stop on by.

BTW - Ed's Potsticker House is on the cusp of obtaining Check Please status. When I was there on Friday night, they did not yet know the air date.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

I've not made it there yet, so that seems like as good a time as any for my first visit. But I am leaving for a week in the morning, so my attendance will depend on if I've gotten everything else in my life accomplished.

I generally believe that the Great Q-Master was right when he advised me that good barbeque , like certain other primal pleasures, is best enjoyed behind closed doors. However, this seems like an excellent time to make an exception! Phyllis, Gabe and I would love to attend. Daughter Molly would too, but will be away on a school trip. Put us down for 3 .

    LTH,

It appears we will have a special guest for the Honey 1 Check Please LTH event, the person who presented H1 on the show, Craig "Meathead" Goldwyn. It will be interesting to be able shoot a few questions Craig's way about CP and the taping.

Craig's a Chicagoland BBQ guy who knows his way around a smoker. Craig's web site is The Zen of Ribs

    Hope to see you there.

    Enjoy,

I really, really want to go. I love pulled pork and the last time I stopped at Honey 1 a certain group had eaten it all. :)

The calendar looks open at this point and the wife and I should be able to come.

    Thanks for setting this up!

    LTH,

It's shaping up to be a terrific evening! We are up to 44 LTHers, with another 6 in the possible category.

With this large of a crowd it would be difficult to arrive at 7:30, order individually and still be situated to see Honey 1 on Check Please at 8pm, also mightily strain Honey 1's BBQ ecosystem. To this effect Honey 1 is setting up a fresh-from-the-smoker BBQ buffet of ribs, tips, links, fresh from the fryer chicken wings, okra and a big pan of coleslaw. By special request there will also be H1's deep fried gizzards, though not "more than a man can carry" as requested. :)

Cost is $15 per person* and will include soft drinks, tax and tip.

    Honey 1 is BYOB.

    Enjoy,
    Gary
