Ok, so reading the BomBon cafe thread, a LOT of us must work in the Loop. How about a lunch gathering there one day?

How are people's schedules time-wise? Would people be able to make 11:45am (so we could get seats easily)? Or would something like 12:30 (so we could linger) be better?

I am in town and not committed to meetings or other lunches on the 26th or 28th, and can do whatever time. (The 30th as well, but I know many people are keeping meatless on Fridays for Lent.) The week of 4/2 is out for me because dietary restrictions for Greek Orthodox Easter.

Sure, just pick a date and I'll amble on over. Earlier is better for me (11:30 or 11:45 is best.) My office is only a couple of blocks from the Bombon Cafe, and as the weather ameliorates, I'm more and more inclined to make that stroll.

(As an aside, does anyone else wonder what they did with that amazing silver sculpture that used to hang over the door when this was a Burger King? Whatever else you may have thought about BK (and I no doubt have thought as much, myself), that was an awesome piece of urban art.)

Yea! An LTH lunch in the Loop! Right now my calendar is free on both days. I also prefer 11:45 since I went at 12:30 last week, and the line was very long, and the place was packed.

Based on threadkiller's post up top and the recent activity in this thread, I was assuming that we were talking about the newest location at 170 W. Washington.

No, we're talking about their new store on Washington, between Wells and LaSalle.

So we've settled on 11:45am, day yet to be determined, but I'm leaning towards Wednesday, 3/28. Since everybody's currently free both days, let's see who else signs up in the next 24 hours and go from there.

I may be able to make it Wednesday, but please don't decide on a date on my account -- it's a big maybe.

While I work in the loop, my availability for lunch is extremely tenuous and prone to last minute changes. I'd like to join you, but it'll have to be a last-minute decision. Either I'll show up or I won't. Best I can do.

    Best,

So we're going to go for Wednesday, 3/28, 11:45am, although I'll probably show up a couple of minutes earlier to avoid the last minute "hey can you take a look at this..." at work.

I will try to remember to print out the LTH logo to identify the group.

I'd love to attend, however I dont want to risk being late to a meeting at 1pm.

Hope to attend future Loop LTH Lunches!

It's just a sandwich place; you'll be out of there by or before 12:30. So, please plan to come. I've got Mrs. JiLS excited about this opportunity, too!

    See you then.

My equally unfortunate situation. I could come, but I fear I'd just be glancing at my watch and nervously eyeing the door throughout. Hope those who can be good company, find good company; and I'll shoot for the next one.

I think the event was a success. Six people, everybody seemed to enjoy their meal (I will post about my tamales in the main thread), and we all made it back to our offices at a reasonable time even though the service speed is pokey at best.

My apologies... my vendor's meeting was changed from the afternoon.... to early morning at 10am..... then to 11am due to scheduling conflicts. I was hoping it would be done early enough for me to head out there no later than 12 noon, but unfortunately didnt make it.

Glad to hear it was well enjoyed and hope I get a chance to make it there to check it out myself soon!
