Food porn from today's lunch at Cuetzala. For perspective, the owners come from the Sierra Madres in Guerrero, and that may be a major influence in the offerings.
(First, full disclosure - I really didn't take notes, and I may be mis-identifying a few things; if so, I'd welcome corrections from the others in attendance.)
Started with a good guacamole, then an off-menu fruit salad, which was mostly devoured before I could get the camera out.
Then came the Tamal Nejo - layered tamal in a banana leaf - a good carrier for the accompanying red and green moles.
My impression was that Ronnie's Chiles Rellenos was the star dish, but all were good (note the recycled plate):
Pollo en Mole
Camarones en Cerveza
Taco Plate (note that Michele's thumb is an optional ingredient on the taco plate, and may not always be available)
One of the specials was a scallop pancake in red lobster sauce
We were also served fingerling potatoes - interestingly cut on one end, allowing the sauce flavors to soak through - apparently Gary couldn't wait. (Sorry for posting this photo, Gary.)
Great time, great people, etc. etc.
