Perhaps we could have more than one outing. One group goes the 29th, perhaps another on Friday the 31st (the evening of one of their Tour de France wine dinners -- this one Provence). Or perhaps the 24th (the evening of one of their Global wine dinners -- this time Cosetino).

I agree that LTH is big enough for both Le Titi and Otom, but perhaps we might also manage more than one night at Le Titi, especially in light of the fact that so many people appear to be going to the Otom dinner.

Just a thought. I want to make sure everyone gets to try Le Titi. I'll gladly head up a dinner on the 31st for those who are going to Otom and can't make the 29th.

And I like it well enough to go twice in one week, if the 29th date holds. So put me down for the 29th, as well -- unless the date is changed because of the Otom dinner.

If there are others who can go on the 31st or 24th, I can make either date.

It looks like the 24th will work for a few of the Otom folks.

And on the 24th, do you want to do the wine dinner? Or dine a la carte? (Wine dinner is six courses with wine pairings for $78 and starts at 7:30. With tax and gratuity, it's about $101.) We'd all need to do the same thing, as far as wine dinner vs. a la carte, as they are generally in different rooms, so the discussion that goes with the wine dinner doesn't annoy those who may not want the community experience.

(To those who have not read all the posts, this is NOT instead of the outing Dicksond has planned; it is an alternate night for folks who cannot attend on the 29th.)

And if you schedule a different night, then I might not be having a separate dinner. That was just an option for if you kept your Le Titit dinner on 8/29. (But I'll cross of the Le Titi dinner for the 29th.)

I've got lots of available nights, and it would be more fun if we could go as a slightly larger group, rather than 3 and 3.

There are 6 of us planning to go on September 4. I think we can comfortably go up to a table of 8, and still have the place show its best. If more folks wish to join us, we can add tables as needed. If that does not work for others who wish to come, we can have two separate dinners, okay?

For 9/4 so far it is:

    Dickson+1

Let me know if any of the rest of you can make it.

Some of the earlier posts will be cleaned up to make this easier to follow.

    Hi,

Depending on how things sort out with jpschust who would round your table to 8, then I would be interested.

jpschust - I am usually going to the city for events. If it is 7 Pm or a smidge later, then I can comfortably get there. When it is 6 or 6:30 PM, then it is tough going. No matter what, it is my Zen moment to get to Chicago whenever I choose because eventually I get everywhere I want to go.

Should we consider two tables? Because I'd love to be there, as well. We could have seating times half an hour apart, if handling 12 people arriving all at once is a problem. (I've done this with friends before at Everest and Ambria, so I know even posh places will make things work.)

Anyway, whatever you decide, if there's room, I'd love to be part of the party.

I believe that there is only one dinner scheduled at this time. It's 9/4. There is room for one more person by my unofficial count.

Having never eaten at this restaurant, I'd like to give them a chance to show themselves in the best possible light. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this, but the nature of the restaurant doesn't seem to lend itself to large parties (it's a "romantic" French place, no?). I'd hate to put the restaurant in a position of having to serve big parties if that will tax them either in the kitchen or the front of house, seeing as it's a somewhat marginal GNR nomination (I'm referring to the lack of a track record on LTH, not to anything having to do with their food or service). Maybe Cynthia should consider scheduling a table on a different night in fairness to the restaurant.

Was a group of that size in keeping with the "vibe" of the restaurant? What I mean is were you the only large table in the midst of quiet 2 and 4 tops?

    Steve,

I was there for one of their wine dinners and the ambience that evening was closer to festive than romantic. On the night being referenced, there were a few larger groups. Whether this holds true for a regular night there, I cannot say. Perhaps others who have dined there more frequently could serve as a resource.

If a restaurant can't handle two tables of six people each, with different seating times, then the restaurant isn't going to survive at all.

However, we don't all have to go the same night, if you're worried about having too many LTHers there at the same time. I was just hoping to have a good group to chat with.

(And to be perfectly honest, I dine there often, so feel free to just count me out. I was going for the companionship, not to try the restaurant for the first time.)

Have a great meal and a splendid evening. I'll see you at something else -- perhaps the picnic.

No need to give up your chair. Really -- I'm about one mile away, and I drop in for lunch. (In fact, I'll be having lunch there this Thursday.) Someone should go who doesn't get there regularly. If we had two tables, I'd go, but if it's just one, I'm more than happy to just wait for your glowing report.

The interest level has surprised me a bit, and in addition to the date issues, we now face this time issue, so here is the solution.

We will have two seatings on 9/4, one at 630, and one at 8p. Both will go if we get at least 4 people. Once we get enough people for 8p, I will ask one of you to be the reservation holder. To keep things a bit under control, we will max out at 8 per table, but we can add more tables if needed. (And we will adjust table size so there will not be 8 people at a table, and 1 at the second of course).

So please reply as to whether you are interested and want to dine at 630 or 8. (the 630p and 8p parties will have the chance to compare notes and share a sip I hope as they cross, because I want to meet as many LTH'ers as I can).

    So far, 630 is:
