Divine Chocolate Tasting; Meet Kuapa Kokoo Farmers
    Saturday, October 13, 2007 1:00 PM
    Wild Oats-Evanston
    1111 Chicago Ave, Evanston
    (847) 475-9492

Divine Chocolate tasting featuring members of Kuapa Kokoo Farmers’ Cooperative in Ghana, co-owners of Divine. The farmers will speak about Divine, Fair Trade, and what it means to be cocoa farmers who hold shares in an international chocolate brand. (This event is open to the general public.)

If you're curious but can't make it, there are a couple other tastings scheduled this weekend, and a recipe contest more info here. If I can successfully unwind Sparky from his soccer game at 11, we may stop at WASC for lunch around noon and then go to this afterward. Anybody who wants to join us is welcome - sorry, I won't be near a computer so I won't know if you reply.

Well, we're back - it was interesting (especially for Sparky since one of the women is not only a farmer but a firefighter) but, more importantly, I thought the 70% chocolate was very, very good - a floral chocolate with very little burnt flavor. They're headed to Hinsdale at 4, if you can make it.

Sorry I missed this. I've purchase Divine chocolate (only the milk version) at Ten Thousand Villages in Evanston and really like it.

They were there earlier in the day. Wild Oats carries the 70% and a mint chocolate; I sampled the milk chocolate as well but I'm not a good judge of that. Maybe I'll save some for the next time I see you! (don't hold your breath, though - having a hard time stopping even now) :)
