On March 27th, two colors blend as one sixtyblue, Green City Market and ChicaGourmets unite to celebrate ten years of impeccable cuisine and fresh, seasonal produce at a joint Tenth Anniversary Party. Executive Chef Martial Noguier will create delectable bites, featuring just-picked produce straight from the Market’s farmers. A selection of organic wines and signature Green Market cocktails will be served, highlighting the garden-fresh flavors of Mother Nature.
Chic Pivot [the West Loop boutique voted a Sweetest Thing of 2007 by Daily Candy Chicago] will present a roving fashion show featuring locally designed, eco-friendly garments. The Tenth Anniversary Cocktail Party will launch exciting new additions to one sixtyblue’s beverage program allowing diners to shake, sip, and celebrate one sixtyblue’s tenth anniversary all year long.

• To commemorate the past ten years and enjoy the bright green future ahead, guests will indulge in Chef Noguier’s delectable bites including Baby Coho Salmon atop a warm wild rice blini with avocado and lemon crème fraiche, Grilled Capriole Farm Goat Cheese Sandwich on homemade brioche with Seedling farm apple salad, lemon butter and balsamic reduction and Baby Turnips with Mushroom Puree and white truffle oil.
• Garden-fresh cocktails like the Frambios Por Moi with Vanilla Royale, Chambord, Crème de Cacao and Green City Market raspberries, and Cranberry Cooler made with Stoli, fresh ginger, soda, and the juice of Green City Market cranberries and pomegranates will be prepared at an interactive cocktail station, and served alongside organic, biodynamic, and sustainable wines ranging from a 100% sustainable Au Bon Climat pinot noir from California, to a 100% certified organic Chateau Doyac Bordeaux from France.
• All of the eco-friendly wines served at the anniversary party will be added to the one sixtyblue wine list in a specific “Green” category and will be available to guests throughout 2008 to complement Chef Noguier’s market-driven cuisine.
• Chicago Tribune Food Editor, Carol Haddix, will join the celebration with a sale and book signing of her book Chicago Cooks: 25 Years of Chicago Culinary History and Great Recipes from Les Dames d'Escoffier (Agate Surrey, 2007).
• To sustain these initiatives further, a portion of the evening’s proceeds (tickets and books) will go to Growing Home, a charity providing job training and employment opportunities for homeless and low-income people in Chicago within the context of urban organic agriculture.
Monthly Green City Market Cocktails
In celebration of ten years one sixtyblue will offer a unique Green City Market Cocktail for each month of 2008 featuring the just-picked produce and herbs fresh from local farms. The March featured cocktail will be The Green City Market Michael Jordan Anniversary Special made with limoncello, vodka and fresh blood orange. Only Mother Nature could blend such a perfect elixir!
