Over pizza and beer at Burt's, JimTheBeerGuy suggested that it's time for LTHers to get together again and drink beer. Fancy that!

    So, here it is.

LTHForum Cocktail Hour Part VI: In Which We Drink At Quenchers

    Wednesday, April 9th, 6pm.

Quenchers is located on the NE corner of Fullerton and Western (2401 N. Western)
    www.quenchers.com

They have food but I find their proximity to Honey 1 to be more of a culinary asset. Their beer list is above reproach.

Reply here, or don't and just show up. There's no formality to this event. No reservations or "saved seats". Show up and find a place to settle in. Have a beer, chat, repeat.

    Best,
    Michael

I remember when, before the Map Room, before the Hopleaf, Quenchers was the go-to spot in town for decent beer. I'll be happy to join you.

It is indeed a luxury to have multiple "go-to" spots :)

    See you next week.

I'm working Wed. nights this month but I will be at Quenchers this coming Thursday April 3rd to see my friends band play at 9pm.

    Hey, why the hell not?

So what's the protocol for bringing food in here--is it OK to show up to the bar with my tips from Honey 1?

Since Quenchers serves a pretty full menu these days, I doubt that they'd be too friendly to outside food being brought in. I'd call first and check.

I'll be there. While I like the Honey 1 idea, the logistics, it seems, would require dining before or after beer consumption, and I'd probably rather do those things together. And, heck, there don't seem to be any reports yet about the food at Quenchers, so perhaps we can be the initiators of a thread about the place's cuisine.

Swollen glands, itchy throat, aches, and overall exhaustion have overtaken me since this morning.

I'm embarrassed to say, even though I planned this event, it'll have to go on without me. I'm barely able to keep up on my feet this afternoon.

    Have fun, everyone.

    Best,
    Michael

That's a shame, Michael. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Everyone else, I'll see you there. I'll be the guy drinking a beer.

MsWiv and I will do our best to stand in for you, though if I have more than a few it may be lean in. :)

Thanks to Michael for organizing this. Even in absentia he throws a great party.

Of course, toppping it off with the meat and okra orgy (complete with Gary's chili oil) at Honey 1 wasn't bad, either.

Why yes I do, and Quenchers puts out a respectable tater tot.

I preferred the plain Jane tots to The Works Tot (cheddar jack cheese, bacon, sour cream) which Jim pictured, an occasional swipe in ketchup is all the enhancement, if that, a crispy tater tot needs.

Thanks Michael for setting this up, sorry you were under the weather, bar was comfortable, nice selection of beer, I had a milk stout, and the bartender was quite humorous, referring to his 6' plus self as Gary Coleman on steroids as he did, slightly, resemble an extended version of Gary Colman.

Company and conversation was spirited and our evening's end at Honey 1 a treat.
