    FOREST PARK'S 3RD ANNUAL RIB-FEST: Saturday, September 13th, at the Forest Park Picnic Grove, 7824 Madison Street. There will be activities for all members of the family, young & old alike. The event begins at noon and will wrap up around 11:00pm. Bring your appetite 'cuz you'll be able to sample the ribs before and after the judging for a nominal cost. Additional food and beverages will also be sold and there will be live entertainment throughout the day. Please call the Center at 771-7737 for competition participation information.

    The mayor on 'cue

    Do you like ribs? "I do. ... baby back ribs ... barbecued, with barbecue sauce."

    Growing up in Forest Park, where did you go for ribs? "We really didn't have a place in Forest Park. There was a place in Elmwood Park called Russell's. It had barbecued ribs-good, by the way."
