    Hi all,

I've been invited to guest-bartend at Prairie Fire -- the new restaurant from the team behind Prairie Grass Cafe in Northbrook -- on Tuesday 2/16 from 6-8 pm. I'm not sure exactly what the arrangement will be but I believe my stint will be a 2-hour session during which 3 featured cocktails and one selected appetizer will be offered. Of course, the restaurant isn't quite open yet (though, that should be happening very soon), so this is all subject to final confirmation.

I hope that some of my fellow LTHers will come out, say hi and let me mix up some drinks for them. Fortunately for everyone involved, I will not be cooking the appetizer. :D

Once I know more of the details, I will update here accordingly.

    Prairie Fire
    215 N Clinton
    Chicago, IL 60661

Disclosure: I have a miniscule financial interest in this restaurant.

Yes. I'll be helping to pair the appetizer and select the cocktails -- and I think one of those cocktails might even be an original creation but that's not 100% set at the moment.

I will try to be there as well. Let me propose - if Prairie Fire is serving food by the 16th - that those of us who wish dine there with the pleasant buzz of Ronnie's cocktails on our lips. So, if possible, let us gather a group to dine at 8:00. If Prairie Fire is not serving food, perhaps we can head over to Avec or Sepia.

Glad you can make it, Gary. As for the meal, my very strong hunch is that if Prairie Fire isn't serving food by this time (which is extremely unlikely), the event won't happen. For that reason, please keep an eye on this thread for updates.

By Pappy, I am assuming that you refer to Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve Bourbon. Or am I, once again, in the alcoholic dark.

Loved those ice balls and the drink surrounding them. Thanks Ronnie for pouring a delicious Old Fashioned (or two).

Also the Pork Schnitzel with capers and garlic greens was a wonderful accompaniment to said Old Fashioneds.
