This time around it will be cooler, thus I promise it won't be hot and I won't serve soup!

Welcome to the 10th Exchange! There's no theme except tasty.
I'll post my dinner and dessert shortly. I'd like to cap this event at 8 people.

    Basic exchange rules:
    1) I will provide a light vegetarian dinner plus non-alcoholic beverages and some random booze.
    2) Bring one dessert, no need to double or triple the recipe, there's always plenty!
    3) Bring containers for taking your samples home, I suggest one for non-perishables and one for perishables/wet stuff like pudding
    4) Come hungry!

I promise it won't be hot as hell this time and I won't serve soup!
Note: I have a very friendly kitty who will insist on a scratch behind the ears.

    ATTENDEES
    ----------
Pie Lady! (Hostess) - Dinner: Jyoti's Greek Salad and White Bean, Baby Carrot & Dill Salad with baguette, cheese, and pear-something-compote.
Dessert: A cookie variety including Chocolate-Dipped Hearts, Lavender Cookies and Macadamia Doom Bars (barring a food-related freak accident) plus lots of tea and coffee for dunkin', milk, and random booze.
Cathy2 - Pönnukökur with Whipped Cream
    Ms. Ingie -
LauraS - Angel Food Cake with Mango Sauce
eli - Citrus Cornmeal Cake or possibly waffles
kwaller78 - cake or cookies TBA

I'm thinking that my contribution will be an array of cookies that may include Alfajores, Cardamom-Honey Cutouts, Lavender, and/or Pistachio/Lemon/Vanilla Shortbread. Updates will likely ensue...

Is this a self-imposed fast? I checked to learn Ramadan is much later this year.

Funny, after last months success I was thinking of doing another cookie or bar, but looks like we are cookie and bar heavy this round. I'll have to come up with something else I think.

There's no such thing as too many cookies or bars. We could always make that the theme. Thoughts?

    Hi,

I was at a meal recently where dessert was crepes spread with strawberry jam and whipped cream. This is a fine excuse to have more!

It is unless I change my mind and do some flaming dessert crepe or make a cake with a caramel dome over it. I've been watching Julia Child French Chef programs later. I want to make everything she just did right after each program. I now have a laundry list of ambitions.

I think I've settled on making angel food cake with a mango compote. Without even noticing the coincidence, I debated about making devils food cake instead :? I may try it this weekend, but let's go with angel food cake with a fruit sauce for now. See you all soon!

I've been racking my brain on this one. I've made Ina Garten's Lemon Cake for a couple of occasions of late, but I see that we also have Lemon Bars. I haven't noticed any chocolate, so I could also make individual molten lava cakes from Dorie Greenspan's dessert cookbook. The other thing could be a peach kuchen as promised for an earlier exchange, but I'd have to use canned peaches as they are out of season. Any thoughts?
