Senior Wine Director Scott Harney welcomes guests to take part in the inaugural Harvest Week, a week-long celebration to include an interactive wine class, wine tastings, barrel samples and more at ENO inside the InterContinental Chicago. Featuring visiting winemakers who will provide their personal take on each wine region, each day offers a special in honor of harvest time in wine country.
Monday, September 13, 2010; 7 p.m.:
ENO-Versity: Harvest Time! Guests can learn all the steps of winemaking and what it takes to bring the grapes to the glass. Learn the ins and outs along with blending your own red wine. $35
Tuesday, September 14, 2010; 6-8 p.m.:
Spend the night with Daedalus Cellars Owner Pam Walden as she pours wines to sample along with offering a special wine flight to include Daedalus Cellars Gruner Veltliner, Daedalus Cellars Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and Daedalus Cellars “Labyrinth” Pinot Noir. Flight price is $16.
Wednesday, September 15, 2010; 7:30-9:30 p.m.:
ENO welcomes Owner Joy Sterling of Iron Horse Vineyards in Sonoma County for a night of bubbles. She will be pouring the Classic Brut and Russian River Cuvee along with the Wedding Cuvee from a 3L bottle.
Thursday, September 16, 2010; 4 p.m.-12 a.m.:
ENO Senior Wine Director Scott Harney will be pouring Chatter Creek Winery’s Lonesome Dove Syrah as a sample from the winery located in the Yakima Valley in Washington. You won’t find this wine anywhere else in Chicago for an affordable $12 a glass.
Friday, September 17, 2010; 1 p.m.–1 a.m.
ENO will be debuting a new ENO wine to include a new vintage of Hill Family Estates’ “Origin” Bordeaux blend. The Hill Family Estates’ “Origin” is full of blackberry fruit followed with just enough toast and tannin to hold it up for a long finish, along with licorice and coffee notes after it opens up. It’s only at ENO for $15 a glass.
Saturday, September 18, 2010; 1 p.m.–1 a.m.
ENO finishes Harvest Week by pouring it big…wine from 3L bottles that is. ENO will offer a several wine varietals from various wine regions, all at an affordable price and from a very large wine bottle. Wines will start at $12 per glass.
