cathy: i've got a little more information, and an important CORRECTION on the joan nathan event. it is going to be starting at 7:30, not 6:30, and a better number for people to call to reserve a space is tammy at 847-272-4772. for non-temple members, there will be a charge of $7.50, to cover the cost of the food we will be sampling that evening from nathan's latest cookbook.

i'll find out more specifics about timing in a week, but the temple also needs a few people to come in the morning to prepare the dishes (nathan will not be there).

the new cookbooks is called, "quiches, kugels and couscous: my search for jewish cooking in france", and will be sold at the event. i love nathan's books and am very excited about this event. i've reserved a space and suggest that those wanting to attend do the same. i'd be surprised if it doesnt sell out. justjoan

    Joan,

I gathered as much information as I could before posting. I am glad you were able to fill in the blanks.

cathy, i didnt know about this event until i read your post. so i'm really grateful you posted. i'm not sure why the time of the event is different from what you were told, but as someone who'll be driving in from chicago, the later time will make the commute much easier. (i assume you, the OP, are the only person who can correct the time in the subject line?) justjoan

    Hi,

Most of my information came from Joan's website, maybe 6:30 is when she is supposed to be there. Fortunately, Ann Arbor's Culinary Historians highlighted her visit to me.

Between the two of us, there is now enough information for anyone wishing to attend. :D

    Regards,
    Cathy2

someone from the hosting temple is going to contact joan nathan so she lists the correct time, 7:30, on her website-because, as cathy found out, it says 6:30. justjoan
