(mod/admin: I've searched around, but couldn't find any similar threads, if I overlooked, please merge, thanks)

I hope to dedicate a thread to special dining occasions around Chicagoland. These events should be available to the general public (ie. no invitation only, industrial dinners, etc.). Please update if any of you know any other events.

Ticket price is $180 per person, everything inclusive, and can be purchased online through Outstanding in the Field website. Source: http://outstandinginthefield.com/events ... ner_id=145

I think this is valuable information. FWIW, I would be most likely to read it if each event had its own thread (as has been the pattern with this section of the board). Knowing that this thread is just going to contain dense lists of dates will make me want to skip it.

I mostly agree. Though, the main reason that I want to keep them all in one thread is that I don't want to clutter the forum with uninteresting threads. If any events really stand out to somebody, that person can always start a new thread and discuss with others.

That seems like double work. And the forum is cluttered with uninteresting threads. They're just easier to scan as separate threads than a single, cluttered thread.

FYI, the Bonsoiree "underground" dinners are simply their normal Saturday offering. There's nothing particularly underground about them and sadly my experience with one was really disappointing.

That's really good to know. I actually just reserved a spot for the next underground menu, but I guess I need to rethink about this. I dined their 13-course twice, and left satisfied. But I've never tried any of the smaller offerings.

That's because there's an entire forum dedicated to events. This one! Which is why it's called "Events Calendar."

Just wait until I start a thread collecting Special Dining Events metathreads together. Leo DiCaprio will have to start spinning a top in one of them to pick a dinner venue.
