I moonlight as a professional church and opera singer, and worlds collide on
Sunday, February 26 when I'll be singing about spumoni at the Smart Museum as part of their
Feast exhibition (
which has many other wonderful food-related events). A favorite selection is the "Ice Cream Sextet" from Kurt Weill's
Street Scene, where we rapturously ode gelati and old-fashioned
drugstore foods of all kinds. Come to hear some of the wonderful students and community members I've been working with this winter!
If hungry LTHers show up, we might just be able to hit a Hyde Park favorite (The Nile, Rajun Cajun, or take some Ribs 'N Bibs to eat at Hutch Commons) after the concert. Post or PM if you might drop by and I'll keep an eye out for you.
