You are cordially invited to our Chinatown Centennial Lecture next Saturday, March 17, at 2:30 p.m. on Iconic Architecture II: Moy's Association Building and Won Kow Restaurant Building. This lecture will offer a look at not only the architecture of Chinatown, but
two critical Chinese-American establishments: the restaurant for economic purposes, and the family associations for societal needs.The lecture will be presented by architectural historian and historic preservationist Tim Wittman. Mr. Wittman teaches courses in the history and theory of modern architecture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Columbia College. He authored the Chicago Landmarks Commission's report on the On Leong structure, which ultimately received landmark status.
