    Highland Park’s Inaugural Restaurant Week, Take a Break – EAT OUT!

    The Downtown Highland Park Alliance presents Highland Park’s premier Restaurant Week from April 19 - 29. This ten day event will feature dishes from over thirty local restaurants, making Highland Park a destination for foodies from the entire North Shore and Chicago. Prix-fixe menu items, specials, and unique dining experiences such as Wine Walk Wednesday, Tour de Sweets, and Teen TGIF will be offered during Restaurant Week.

    “From sophisticated food establishments to our casual dining eateries we are looking forward to offering an annual dining experience for families to take a break and eat out,” said Wendy Gimbel, Event Manager at Highland Park CBD Public/Private Economic Alliance. “This is a great opportunity to bring the community together for a fun celebration of local restaurants and the tasty food Highland Park has to offer.”

    Restaurant Week Highland Park will begin on Thursday, April 19 and continue through Sunday, April 29. Morning, noon, and night diners will have the opportunity to eat at some of Highland Park’s acclaimed dining establishments, including: 2nd Street Bistro, 2nd Street Enoteca, Abigail's American Bistro, Arriva Dolce, BBQ Pit, Benjamin, Bluegrass, Breadsmith, Café Central, Dairy Queen/Orange Julius, Frost, Highland Pop, La Casa de Isaac and Moishe, Jamba Juice, Love’s Yogurt, M Restaurant, Menchie's, Michael's Restaurant, New York Slices, Nieto's, Norton's, OUAB, Perfect Blend, Piero's Pizza, Players Grill, Real Urban BBQ, Stash's, Sunset Foods, Sushi Badaya, Tamales, The City Park Grill, Turtles Cupcakes, Vibe at 1935, Walker Brothers Pancake House, Yummy Bowl and more!

    Since I don't like driving too much, is there a restaurant or two that come to mind as being exceptional compared to the rest? I might try to take a day trip and get a lunch and a dinner up in HP.

    Sort of an apples and oranges question. If you're looking for a fine dining experience - Benjamin's. Do you want some 'que - Real Urban. Do you have a hankering for skirt steak - City Park Grill. Burgers - Norton's.

    FYI - La Casa de Isaac and Moishe are actually closer to the Highwood Metra.
