New York, March 19, 2012---The Culinary Trust partners with the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) to present a full day of workshops for individuals seeking to help reduce the childhood obesity epidemic. These workshops are presented as part of the IACP Annual Conference and are the only workshops that are open to the public, they will be held on on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 82 Mercer Street,
Workshop sessions include:
Food policy and feeding kids – how regulation impacts what our kids eat
Three perspectives on eating-- Brian Wansink from Cornell Brand Lab, Food Network/Cooking Channel healthy eating star Ellie Krieger and Calhoun School Chef Bobo present in depth research and expert experience.
Columbia University Teachers' College faculty Pamela Koch and Isobel Contento provide nutrition basics and teaching skills
How to run a school or community cooking class on a shoestring
Networking and information tables providing resources for funding, curriculum and other resources for improving the way our children eat from garden to table to classroom.
A luncheon fundraiser benefiting The Culinary Trust, Wellness in the Schools and Future Cooks Initiative is an opportunity to taste how good a public school lunch can be.
