This was an excellent event -- lots of local talent, but also big-time BBQ masters from all over the country -- and the TV crew of PITMASTERS filming the action.
It was fun seeing bbq jim and meeting his wife and friends. His bbq ribs were awesome, but the competition was stiff, so he wasn't one of the winners (this time -- trophy and ribbons showed that he's a contender in these kinds of competitions).
Met a lot of nice people. Saw some of the OBR folks (Operation Barbecue Rescue -- the guys who respond to disasters by showing up with their big rigs and cooking for victims). Great day.
My clothes all smell wonderfully of smoke now, too, which is a bonus.
