Big Guys (Berwyn) anniversary party, Saturday August 10

As a thank you to all of our customers, we are having a block party on August 10th. We’ll block off Wenonah Avenue and the festivities will be our lot and the lot of neighboring 12th Street Rag. The party starts at 2pm and goes until 3am. We’ll serve our regular menu, as well as sausage specials and an outdoor deep-fried dessert station. Alcoholic drinks will come from the 12th Street Rag, famous for cheap, no-nonsense hooch. Of course, there’ll be music, and a variety at that: Uptown Mayhem (Rock); Wes Chichosz (Rock); Abraham Mellish Jr. (Reggae, Soul); singer/songwriter, Ryan Anderson of Go Long Mule. For the kids, Oak Park School of Rock will be on hand to do instrument demos and we’ll have a bouncy house and a cameo from the Berwyn Fire Department. At night, we’re doing our own Berwyn version of the ‘brew and view,’ screening The Blues Brothers on our East wall. Throughout the day, we’ll have a bags tournament that’s free to enter and winners will take home some nice prizes. Last but certainly not least, there will be a Chicago-style Hot Dog Eating Contest with a $10 entry fee. The winner of that will also take home some nice prizes. Ted Brunson from “Chicago’s Best” will be our Master of Ceremonies. We really hope you all can make it out for some fun in celebration of our first year. It was made all the more productive and positive because of the support of folks like you. Thanks from all the guys at Big Guys!!
