As usual, this is the time of the year to be thinking about cookies. I decided to host this year's cookie exchange earlier than usual due to our annual holiday party and everyone's busy schedule. It will be taking place on November 29th at 3PM. Everyone is to bring a dozen cookies for each of the people attending and a dozen cookies to share at the party. I will be serving a light meal as we will be tasting a bunch of cookies that everyone brings.
In order not to go totally crazy with making cookies I capped it at 8 so we will only need to bring 108 cookies total if everyone shows up.
I look forward to seeing our intrepid bakers and cookie makers at the exchange.

    1. Cookie Monster-Linzer sandwich cookies with passion fruit jam
    2. Irisarbor-mocha pecan fingers
    3. Diane CK-Chocolate Snowballs
    4. Leek-Bourbon/Rum Balls
    5.Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
    6.
    7.
    8.

I'm in - I have to test the recipe but I've been looking at one for mocha cinnamon fingers (with pecans) that sounds good

    I have a few questions.

    Where does this take place?

It's not clear to me, but it sounds like I would need to bring 108 cookies?

If everyone attends that is correct. The event will be hosted in Jefferson Park in my place, closer to the event I will PM everyone the exact address.

The way the exchange works, is you bring 9 dozen of the exact same kind of cookies.
At the party we each put out 1 dozen of our cookies to snack on along with a light meal, wine, tea, etc.

The other 8 dozen we bring packaged up in bags or packs of 1 dozen each.
Then we "swap" so we each go home with 1 dozen each of 8 different types of cookies.

It's fabulous and fun. We also trade recipes- so we can re-create each others' masterpieces LOL
I usually bake mine in 2 sessions and some (or all) get frozen ahead of time, but some bakers do them all in a marathon the day before (or morning of)
    Up to you.

We always meet at CookieMonsters- and she does this for a living - so it's a wonderful treat in more ways than one
Hope you can join us- new friends are always welcome!

If I did it right - this should link to pics from last years' exchange:

If it's OK my daughter Laura will join us,
I don't think she will make extra cookies,
But if not we'll only take one portion between us...

Maybe if anyone still wants to join in-
since our group is on the smaller side...
they could get by with 5 -6 dz cookies-
it would be nice to get a few more cookies in the mix...

We need to bring 5 dozen, yes?

(or really, 4.5 dozen, since there will only be 5 of us at the event)

Will we have a chance to buy some cookies at the shop? I think I'm going to need to supplement :)

That is great, ladies if you would like to add one more dozen to what you are making already I can make another type of cookie so we will have 6 different type of cookies and would need to bring 6.5 dozen. Let me know if you are up for it. Also does anyone have any allergies I should know about? Also we have people who have been here before but does anyone need my address or directions?
    Thanks
    See you all tomorrow!!

    Mushrooms :(

Also, I can do another dozen if people don't mind getting mixed - some rum balls and some gingerbread/snap men.
