I have fond memories of one of these from a while ago. Are there plans for one this year?

    Thanks

    Go, plan - you're in charge :)

You would be best to plan your own.

In the past, I have found that when people have planned the event, interest is pretty high around December 15th or so. Then gradually, about half the people drop out as you get closer to the holiday. There have even been cases where the person setting up the meal decided not to show.

To me, planning around the holidays is just not such a great idea.

We were big fans, but between my immediate family growing (spouse and fiancee of my offspring), and Chinatown being such a crowd on xmas eve, we've found alternatives for ourselves, namely the Skokie or Uptown LSC.

Reading the others, looks like I will be doing this with a friend of mine, like the past couple of years.

Funny enough, HE is more into this than I, after he enjoyed the first one we did. :-)

If any LTH'ers are in Chinatown on X-mas day; and you see a crazy, bald, fat, bearded (well, goateed) Indian dude; cross the street!!

Merry Christmas errybody, and happy (c)Hannukah/Kwanzaa/Festivus to one and all.

I've always wanted to participate in one of these but the annual traditions of my gentile relatives have made it all but impossible. Maybe someday.

    Happy holidays, everyone!

I'd possibly be up for it. What time are we talking?

The consensus seems to be: To Each His/Her Own.

So ... no plans. I will probably just go with a friend.

Some years it's worked out and been a lot of fun. I'm not sure yet if I'll be here or away but if in town, I'd maybe be up for dinner ... Chinatown or SunWah.

I think our family will be going to Lao Sze Scwan on Christmas Eve in Skokie if anyone is interested in joining us - not sure what time

I called the restaurant, and they are fully booked at six- so I had them slot us in at 5:30-if you want to combine forces...
let me know and we can call and see if they can work something out- if not-we'll wave hello
