Hi all,
Friend of LTH and agave spirits maven Lou Bank will be hosting a 5-course dinner on April 4 at Nick's Neighborhood Bar & Grill in Wilmette.
From the
event page:
If you like Tequila, you're going to love this five-course Mexican-influenced dinner by Chef Hilario Clavijo designed for pairing with traditional and artisanal agave spirits from Mexico. Tequila is distilled from fermented Blue Weber agave. But there are more than 200 kinds of agave!
Blue Weber agave takes between four and six years to reach maturity. But have you ever tasted a spirit distilled from a 14-year-old Largo agave? Or a 15-year-old Tepextate?
Agave specialist Lou Bank will be on hand to pair rare mezcals, raicillas, and destilados de agave with each course for anyone making at least a $1 donation to the greenhouse or library programs in rural Oaxaca, in addition to the $65 ticket price for the meal.
As many of you know, Lou has recently hosted a couple of terrific, informative events for LTH (
here and
here) and they are not to be missed.
