My recent purchase of a Nokia E62 Phone / Internet Browser / PDA / (What Doesn't It Do?) piece of uber-geek technology prompted me to create a spreadsheet of our wonderful forum's Great Neighborhood Restaurant award winners.

The E62 reads and opens .xls files and I expect that any other "smart phone" with Office compatability would work just as well.

It's very nice to have a spreadsheet of favorites in my pocket when roaming up and down Kedzie, Devon or Western.

Initially, I started with the GNR, but I've expanded it somewhat to include a few other favorites and I'll continue to expand it as time allows. The data is in two sheets; sorted by name and sorted by cuisine. If you're inclined you can sort it by city or days closed or telephone number...

Since Google has created a method for online collaboration, I have uploaded the first iteration to:

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key= ... VGK3BmvBFA

If you have a google account, (free and you get a gmail account to boot) you can access and add to, correct my mistakes and/or copy the spreadsheet.

Unfortunately, Google doesn't support comments as I have used that function to list favorite dishes and other info. In the meantime, if anyone wants the .xls spreadsheet, feel free to send me a message and I'll e-mail it out to you.

    Marc,

This is a worthwhile endeavor. Thank you.
