Binny's on Grand to Close (Temporarily)?

My wife had a chat with a representative of a major beverage interest on a plane the other day and he said that the Binny's at Grand and Wells/Franklin is slated to close sometime in the near future. Apparently, a new building is going to be constructed on that space. When the building is completed, Binny's will re-open at street level. I've not seen anything written about this elsewhere, but if anyone has more details, I'd be interested in hearing them.

This is a bit of a bummer for me as that Binny's is the closest full-service liquor store to my home. I suppose when it closes, it's head north to Sam's for my needs. Anyone want to recommend something else close to River West (Grand, Milwaukee, Halsted area) with a decent selection of wine, spirits and beer and not outrageous prices?

If true, this is potentially good news. Parking near that Binny's is difficult and the small parking lot is, well, very small. Every time I use that lot, I feel lucky to escape without having my car bumped.

Not a full-service liquor store, but you might try Bennett Special Wines, at Halsted and Washington. It's a very nice, small wine shop, with most wines under $20.
