I opened this up thinking "oh good, another place serving goat"

I know, birria as oposed to birra, reading comprehension is a skill...... :)

Well, in all fairness Gary, birria consomme is definitely "something to drink." :D

To clarify, birra Manabrea is an excellent Italian beer served at Spacca Napoli and Coalfire in Chicago (there are probably other places that serve it). It is superbly crisp and clean tasting, with a great yeasty snap. I would love to get my hands on some in six-pack form to drink at home with some grilled meats.

I would not be surprised if they had it at West Lakeview Liquors. They have several Italian craft beers.

    schenked,

Thanks for the tip. I've been there and haven't seen it. I also checked the website and it doesn't appear to be listed. Still, West Lakeview has an awesome selection of beers, and is one of the few places that carries my favorite vodka, Russian Standard.

    Any other leads? Thanks folks!

Coalfire has both the light and the dark, although they were out of the dark last night. I always order a Menabrea while waiting at Avec.
