I couldn't find anything on this place and I'm a little surprised. It's one of the few coffee houses North of Fullerton that roast their own beans on prem. On a recent visit I could smell the waft of roasting beans a block away. They also have some interesting food options for a coffee house. I've only recently tried it (hence my search for some other insight), and will be certainly going back for more of that coffee. They are right across the street from a Starbucks so I figure they'll need some love.

Safari Cup is one of the more underrated spots on the north side. Maybe because they're not trying to be hipster at all. Just good coffee, roasted on premises. Their pastries are also homemade. Really good stuff there sometimes, especially the chocolate-chocolate chip muffins.

Across the street at Starbucks there is usually a mass of zombies lined up all the way to the door. At Safari I rarely have to wait behind more than 2 people.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure they get their croissants and some other baked goods from Beans & Bagels.

No, in retrospect I'm not sure. They taste like it - hats off to Beans & Bagels then.

I just checked with the barista and they confirmed everything comes from Beans and Bagels (and in turn, B&B gets their coffee from Safari).

While it would be nice to know they make everything in house, the quality of the pastries is way better than the average coffee shop. No, it isn't Floriole or anything, but considering the garbage most places serve along side otherwise decent coffee, their quality is greatly appreciated.
