If you read the business sections of the papers, you have probably seen that Cub Foods is leaving the Chicago market as part of a series of mergers/sales in the grocery business. With their going, they are liquidating their stocks. It's not what I'd call a great sale (based on what I saw to date), but there is something pretty discounted. Wine.
40% off. That's pretty good, no?
Here's the thing, it's all on the lower end. Nothing that will make Pigmon go mmmm. Still, if you read the front pages of the papers of late, you will see how healthy you can be if you only drank more red wine. And stuff like Jadot Beujoilais-Villages is just the thing to pony up with some Honey1 or a takeout pizza. There was enough everyday wines that I ended with 24 bottles today.
Now, I can only speak to the inventory of the Cub Foods on North Avenue and Cicero. YMMV at other Cub Foods. If you like bargains (like me), you might want to check this out.
