    Hi

thought I ought to put a pointer - we tried the same wine in 3 different glasses tonight, and it was interesting (near the bottom at http://www.lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.ph ... 9&start=30)

Fascinating. Have any theories about the oxygen/wine interface, concentration of aroma, or whatever else might have been at work in making a difference/

I have a theory, entirely unsubstantiated and maybe overly obvious, that the wide bottom of the Riedel Oregon Pinot Noir glass enables maximum interface/mixing of oxygen and wine and then the tighter opening concentrates the nose. Seems to me, this kind of glass might work will with a number of different wines.

This is further proof that wine glasses do make a significant difference to the flavor of the wine. We've toyed around with upgrading all our glasses, and we were originally looking at the super high end Riedels, but decided on the Vinnium series instead. I've got to say- it was one of the finest choices we've ever made. We're slowly replacing our collection, but that said, the glasses are doing wonderfully in the dishwasher and being washed by hand (I wanted to run our first few through to see if they would do ok, and they've done wonderfully).
