We are meeting some friends for dinner at Salpicon on Saturday night and could only get an 8:30 reservation. We were hoping to meet in the neighborhood for a cocktail before dinner.
I can't think of anyplace to meet and know that you smart people will be able to help me. Thanks in advance.

Can't think of anything worthwhile in Old Town, but...right nearby in The Gold Coast you could do The Pump Room bar or Zebra Lounge(which might be a bit noisy depending on the crowd).

How about the Old Town Ale House?

Suite Lounge is pretty close to Salpicon, but it might not be the type of place you are looking for.

You could always just meet up at Salpicon and sit at the bar there, although it's a small area and might be hard to get a seat.

And if you want to take in the lights and action of the Mag Mile, valet park at the Park Hyatt and head to the bar outside NoMi . . . it doesn't get much better.

The Suite Lounge looks nice-do you think that we would have to have reservations for a drink? The website suggests them.

My husband also thought that the Pump Room would be a good choice. Both places are about 2 blocks away, right?

There will be 6 of us, and Salpicon's bar area is really small.

The Pump Room is great, but it's more like 4 - 5 blocks away.

I just made reservations at the Suite Lounge for 7:30. I'll report back!
    Thanks.
