dinner tonight, as mentioned elsewhere, the bartender comped us a couple glasses of Viña Godeval made from the Godello grape. I'd never had this before, or even heard of it. Bartender described it as having characteristics of Albariño and Sauvignon Blanc. Works for me.
Anyway, it was terrific. It had a really nice balance of fruit and mineral character, and worked wonderfully with the shrimp.
This particular version is imported by the ubiquitous Jorge Ordoñez. I'm not sure how representative it is of the grape, but if I happen to see it, I'll surely snag a bottle.
