Had a couple of glasses of Goose Island's Christmas Ale at the Wrigleyville GI last weekend. I'm a big fan. My question is, is the bottled version nearly as good as what I had there and secondly, where can I get a 12pack for a good price?

Goose Christmas Ale is made at the production brewery so should be the same on draft or in bottle. I haven't tried either yet though so can't say I've compared them head-to-head.

Not sure about this year, but I do not recall seeing it in 6-packs last year. The Clybourn brewpub had a selection available in 22oz. bottles (great stocking stuffers), but they didn't last too long.

I have seen their Mild Winter ale in 6-packs lately. I haven't tried it this year, but from their website:
    Mild Winter Ale 5.6%ABV
This seasonal release is a tawny red rye ale. Made with a variety of specialty malts including roast barley and rye, this beer is a caramel forward, very slightly spicy ale that has a slight hop aroma from the noble aroma (Pilgrim, Willamette and Tettnang) hops. Served in a Pint glass.

    Sounds pretty good, too!
    best,

I've had the Mild Winter. Not bad - I was expecting a bit more hoppy. But a very drinkable beer.

Mild Winter is great stuff! CostCo has it for $21 a case. Just stocked up again!

I bought a six-pack of it last night at West Lakeview Liquors. I don't know about 12-packs, though.

I was told by the beer guy at the Addison Sal's that they are not doing 12 packs of Xmas ale this year.
