You know, I've resisted the urge to buy any of the Longrow or Hazeulburn that I'm seeing on shelves these days. I don't like to buy a bottle unless I have an idea of what the liquid inside will taste like (never a bad approach) and I don't see this offered much in Chicagoland whisky bars.
If I recall, one of these was featured at the Springbank table at last year's WhiskyFest. My recollection (understandably) is a bit hazy but I don't think I liked it too much (whichever one it was). Still too young, if you ask me, both in terms of the whisky's age and time for the distillers to work with and better understand the whisky. I look forward to hearing your report!
best,
dan
