Wine suggestions for Terragusto

My boyfriend and I are going to Terragusto to celebrate my 30th birthday this Thursday and I would like to bring a really nice wine.

I know this is probably way too broad/vague of a question, but I'd like your suggestions nonetheless.

We are going to have the Italian dinner, but the March menu isn't posted on their website, so I'm not sure which pasta dishes we'll choose. I believe we're leaning towards fish as our secondi.

I'd prefer a red, but am open. We tend to like milder tastes such as Cabernet, but I'm known to like a Pinot Noir as well.

I'm a wine amateur, so forgive my lack of detail.

I don't think I'd classify a Cabernet as "milder." Anyway, if you're going with fish which will probably have some type of butter sauce, then I'd choose a white, something softer with melon overtones, maybe a Chenin Blanc, nothing too acidic like a Sauvignon Blanc or oaked like a lot of California Chardonnays.
