OK, this is more drink related than food related, so sorry if this is off topic.

However, you LTHers have a reputation for knowing where to find stuff in the chicagoland area, and I wanted to see if anyone could help me.

Does anyone know of any stores in the Chicagoland area that specialize in imported barware/glassware, specifically 1 and 2 liter boot shaped beer glasses ?

    Thanks in advance !

    -Tony

EDIT: updated to specify "chicagoland" area.

    Hey Tony,

John's Grocery, in Iowa City, Iowa, specializes in all sorts of funky barware....glass boots included.

While not in the area, they will ship to you. You can view their stock on-line.

    You could try beercup.com

They are a unit of food service supplier Boelter and they carry all sorts of glassware. The company I work for (a beer distributor) uses them all the time. I did not search specifically for boots but I would be surprised if they didn't have them.

I once had occasion to look for exactly what you describe -- I believe I ended up finding it at an German import store -- quite possibly the Kuhn delicatessen out in Northbrook but I honestly don't remember -- it was over 10-12 years ago.

I'd check your basic German import stores -- sorry I don't have any specifics to offer. I'm not even sure if Kuhn's still exists.

Hah. Precisely my reaction upon seeing the thread title. On the ride home my movie-going companion said "$10 says there's a sudden demand for beer boots.", in fact.
