But their new strawberry lemonade is great! Has anyone else tried it? I pulled into one of their drive-thrus today to get a sweet tea to slake my thirst, but flipped to the S/L on a whim. Boy, was I surprised. Serious fruit flavor. I could do without the slush, but it wasn't that annoying. I recommend you give this stuff a shot.

I haven't tried it yet, but [shameless plug] if you see the billboards all over town and ads on Pandora for the new McD beverages, my friend Erika Dufour shot all of those photos!

will respectfully disagree, tried it and thought it was ok. seemed like a frozen lemonade (which is fine) mixed with the strawberry topping they'd put on a sundae (ok for sundae, not as a drink mixer).

oddly given my need for an occasional beverage that's not caffeinated but with more substance than soda, i'll probably talk myself into getting it again.

I will also respectfully disagree, especially if you compare it to the Taco Bell Mango Strawberry Frutista,
which I find a wonderful refreshing guilty pleasure.
The McD strawberry IMO is an overly thick overly sweet "syrup" underlaying an OK frozen lemonade slush.
If you drink as is it's cloying/unappealing. If you mix in it, it's OK/meh.

The mango/strawberry frustista is a mango slush with soft soft of thawed frozen strawberry syrup/fruit bits
ladeled over the top that sink into the slush.
When you drink it, you get a nice combo of the two, plus the fruit bits.

    I like it-like I said-guilty pleasure....

I'll agree with the comments about the strawberry syrup, but I thought the lemon flavor was pretty good.

The Wife and I drove by one of these younger/hipper billboard images the other day and both commented on the new look. Whatever one may think of McDonald's, these happy hipsters slurping McD's are probably helping in what seems an aggressive image makeover.

I'd be happier if they shot a bunch of overweight children gorging themselves on Chicken Nuggets. Everybody loves kidz!

Slightly off topic-but we were in China with young children who would not eat the local fare-despite our begging and threats. We take our kids to ethnic places including Chinatown-LTH and Argyle Street where they eat plenty. On a few occasions we ended up at Mc Ds and it served a few purposes-free wi-fi in towns that you had no access, non-squat toliets which were clean and free and my girls would eat ice cream, fries , nuggets and hamburgers. Non nutrious food -definately but it filled their stomachs. My kids have been exposed to all kinds of cuisines but when you have a limited time to eat, you have tried ordering mass quantities of food they will not eat and ordering in a place that speaks no english and no menu- and it may be over 15 hours before any kind food is available it fits the bill. We keep trying to get them to explore foods and they do so-at their own pace.

I also have to give McD's kudos.

I buy probably 2 Happy Meals a week for my daughter, she gets the toys & the apple juice & I get the "food".

Recently I noticed that if you get the apples instead of the fries there is a code on the apples you use online and McDonalds plants a tree for each code entered. * I do not know the all details of this offer, where the trees will be planted, what kind of trees they are, how tall the trees are, if they are fruit trees, how old the trees are, etc.*

No menu? That is pretty crazy.

When traveling abroad, I have to say that I love seeing those familiar golden arches. I like to check out what is different about their menu and most importantly use their free wifi. When we were in Australia last year, we learned that they take their coffee drinks seriously. I am a newbie to drinking coffee and far from being a connoisseur, but I loved the flat whites at McDonald's Cafes in Oz.

    Hi,

I bought a strawberry-lemonade while driving from Indianapolis to Bloomington, IL recently. I finished it despite disliking every sip. Very sour lemon and the strawberry accent offered no relief, it needed sugar bad. Did a get an oddball or is it that sour a drink?

While travelling abroad and the local color is just shades of gray, an occasional McD's fix, a clean toilet and a few moments in an American environment do wonders.

Somewhere in my files, I have a McDonald's tray liner providing detailed instructions on how to use a drive up window in Russian.

Oh how I wish there were McDonald's in my other life. I'd go to the Sheremetyevo airport with my passport and ticket for lunch. It was a good reminder I could leave any time I wanted. Duty bound, I went back to town feeling a whole lot better.

    Regards,
    Cathy2
